Lightweight Done Right – Glorious Model O Mouse Review

Glorious PC Gaming Race is making itself known with a very unique mouse. The Glorious Model O is one of the best mice I have ever used.

The world of competitive gaming breeds a special kind of gamer. This type of gamer needs a different breed of tools to stay on top of their game. The Glorious Model O mouse might be the one tool that gives players the edge they’re looking for.

Glorious PC Gaming Race is still reasonably new in the competitive hardware-making scene for PC gamers. This hasn’t stopped them from creating some fantastic mice and keyboards that are made from PC gamers for PC gamers. The Glorious Model O mouse is a very impressive entry into the world of competitive gaming.

Honeycomb, I’m Home

Honeycomb Shell 1024x768 - Lightweight Done Right - Glorious Model O Mouse Review

The Honeycomb Shell of the Model O is unique all on its own.

At first glance, the Model O mouse stands out as one of the most interesting designed pieces of PC hardware I’ve ever seen. The Model O has a unique honeycomb shell that can be seen on the top and bottom of the mouse.

Due to the honeycomb design, the Model O becomes the world’s lightest RGB gaming mouse weighing in at only 67 grams. This light as a feather design is surprisingly durable and has held up even in the most intense gaming sessions (I tend to squeeze my mouse a little when things get crazy.)

I was skeptical about how the Model O would feel with all these holes in it. To my surprise, I could barely feel that they were there, and I forgot about the holes altogether, the more I played with it. With all the ventilation the Model O provides, I never had a moment where I felt my hand get too warm. A cool hand helped keep me focused on those intense PvP battles.

Design and Software

Glorious Model O Software 1024x651 - Lightweight Done Right - Glorious Model O Mouse Review

The Model O has a lightweight ambidextrous frame with six programmable buttons and RGB lights. Despite it having an ambidextrous structure, which is very comfortable, it is only made for right-handed gamers, leaving Southpaws out of the equation. This seems like a bit of a strange choice, and the addition of two more buttons on its right side would have made this mouse accessible for anyone.

The RGB lighting is something to behold on the Model O with two sleek lights on both sides and under the scroll wheel. The entire mouse lights up all thanks to the honeycomb shell. The lights, DPI settings, and buttons can be programmed through the optional software you can download from PC Gaming Race.

The software is simple and sleek with just a picture of the Model O and dropdown boxes for additional options. You don’t necessarily need the software as it comes with options to change the DPI and lighting effects on the mouse itself.

Equipped with the Pixart 3360 sensor, up to 12,000 DPI, and a 1000Hz report rate, the Model O is a fast and accurate mouse. Combining speed and low weight, switching from one target to another was a breeze. With a claimed lifespan of 20 million clicks, you should get a lot of quality use of the Model O whether you’re gaming or just browsing the web.

The Verdict

The Model O is one of the best mice I’ve ever used despite how I felt about it when I first saw it. The unique honeycomb shell and ambidextrous design make the mouse very comfortable. The only downside is that the Model O is only made for right-handed use. If you’re using the Glorious Model O for gaming or general use you won’t be disappointed.
