Fans of the Streets of Rage series are eager to learn when they can fight back the evil syndicate and make the streets safe again. Streets of Rage 4 won’t be released until 2020, but the hype for it is real.
Streets of Rage 4 2020
The developers LizardCube and Guard Crush Games, along with publisher Dotemu, have been hard at work to bring Streets of Rage 4 to life. Guide Stash was able to get hands-on with this much-anticipated sequel and learned quite a bit about what players can expect.
Streets of Rage 4 is heavily inspired by Streets of Rage 2 and this can be found through level design and even character gameplay. Getting hands-on with series favorite Axel Stone and newcomer Cherry Hunter shows the dynamics of different play styles.
Character Play Style
Axel is a character who relies more on his fighting skills to go head-on, while Cherry is a more agile character that is best used to move around the enemy. No confirmation has been given whether characters from Streets of Rage 2 or Streets of Rage 3 will eventually be playable, but one character that is returning is Mr. X’s right-hand man Shiva who is pitted against our heroes.
Shiva has been a staple to the Streets of Rage Series since Streets of Rage 2 and has been a thorn in the side of Axel and Blaze. A fourth playable character is set to be announced who is rumored to be the strongest of all the characters.
More information about Streets of Rage 4 will be announced in the coming year with a release date in 2020. When these further details are available, Guide Stash will report on it. Streets of Rage 4 will be released on PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
