Sony and Insomniac Games have announced the release window for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man. According to a new PlayStation Blog post covering the PlayStation highlights of 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will arrive on PlayStation 5 in fall 2023.
The Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel was first announced as a PS5 exclusive back in September 2021. “Following the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the Spider-duo of Peter Parker and Miles Morales are back in the next blockbuster action chapter of the Marvel’s Spider-Man series,” says the blog post. “Much is still to be revealed about the game, and going off the quality of the past two titles, we’re bound to be in for a fantastic new original Spider-Man adventure.”
As the next mainline entry in the series, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will follow the events of the first Spider-Man game as well as the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will return for the sequel to battle Venom. The developers have been light on the details, but hopefully more information will arrive sooner than later.
The PlayStation Blog post also covers some of the other new releases heading to PS5 next year, including Forespoken, Destiny 2: Lightfall, Final Fantasy XVI, and Resident Evil 4. Check back soon for more Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 news and updates.
