Ubisoft Unveils Watch Dogs Legion Release Date and Gameplay

You don't just play as a single protagonist in Ubisoft's upcoming Watch Dogs Legion but rather a whole array of characters. It beings on March 6, 2020.

Ubisoft kicked off their E3 2019 press conference with a lengthy gameplay trailer of Watch Dogs Legion. Not only did we get to see how a future London has fallen into a constant state of martial law, but we also saw how the player will take control of many playable characters.

Throughout the gameplay trailer, we see the player control several characters in an effort to recruit a new expert to assist Ded Sec, essentially the resistance, in fighting against drones.

The big hook in Watch Dogs Legion is that you can “recruit and play as anyone.” Every character you run into in London is fully detailed and has a backstory. Depending on their skills and abilities, these characters may help your cause if you recruit them. This leaves the player with a large variety of paths to progress through the game.

Ubisoft has a good track record of creating a world that feels alive, as we’ve seen previously in Far Cry 5 and The Division 2. Seeing the whole of London become available to use in whatever fashing the player chooses, should prove to be interesting.

In addition, Ubisoft announced the Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s Editions for Watch Dogs Legion:

  • Gold Edition includes the base game and the Season Pass.
  • Ultimate Edition includes Gold Edition and Ultimate digital content, including four weeks VIP Status to earn experience and currency faster.
  • Collector’s Edition includes the Ultimate Edition plus the LED Ded Coronet Mask Replica, an exclusive Steelbook, a set of three stickers and a recto-verso propaganda poster, all inspired by the game’s universe, and instant access to the mask in-game. Collector’s Edition is exclusive to the Ubisoft Store.

Fans who purchase the Gold, Ultimate or Collector’s editions will be able to get the game up to three days early from the standard release date. Fans who pre-order Watch Dogs Legion will receive access to the Golden King Pack with the “Uneasy Lies” Mask Skin, the “Serpent Sisters” Pistol Skin, and the “Lux” Car Skin.

You can start building your very own resistance in Watch Dogs Legion on March 6, 2020, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
