The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition, the next-generation version of The Witcher 3, is now scheduled to release at the end of this year. The news came via a tweet from developer CD Projekt Red celebrating the game’s seventh anniversary on Thursday.
“Let’s make this 7th anniversary even better, shall we?” says the tweet. “We’re delighted to share that the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned to release in Q4 2022.”
The Complete Edition was initially expected to release in Q2 2022, but was postponed in April after CD Projekt Red chose to finish developing the next-gen edition in-house. According to today’s tweet, players can expect the Complete Edition to release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sometime in Q4 2022, which occurs between October and December.
Those who own the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Witcher 3 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions for free. The Complete Edition will also include extra in-game items inspired by The Witcher Netflix series.
