The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a game that is meant to be experienced on the highest graphical settings. It appears the game is going to become even more technically impressive. Today, developer CD Projekt Red announced the next-generation edition of The Witcher 3, which will be optimized for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The next-gen edition of The Witcher 3 is said to feature various visual and technical enhancements, improving upon an already impressive, graphically demanding game. The technical improvements include ray tracing and faster loading times, which should come as good news to console players. The upgrades will be applied across the base game as well as all of its additional content. This includes both of the game’s two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine.

There’s even more good news for those who already own the game. Players who currently own The Witcher 3 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC will be able to upgrade to the next-gen edition for free. CD Projekt Red hasn’t given details on how this will work yet, but it’s great to hear that current owners of the game won’t have to worry about buying The Witcher 3 again on next-gen platforms just to experience the enhancements.
There has been no mention of a price for the next-gen edition of The Witcher 3, but we may know more as we get closer to the arrival of Xbox Series X and PS5 this holiday season. Be sure to check back here for more news and updates on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
