First Official WitcherCon Scheduled for July

Netflix and CD Projekt Red have partnered to put on the first virtual convention celebrating all things The Witcher.

CD Projekt Red and Netflix have joined forces to announce the first-ever WitcherCon, a global online event dedicated to celebrating The Witcher franchise. The announcement followed shortly after a series of mysterious tweets between The Witcher, Netflix, and CD Projekt Red Twitter accounts. WitcherCon is scheduled to take place next month on July 9, 2021 and will feature panels and content from both The Witcher video games as well as the Netflix television series.

The first WitcherCon celebration will consist of two broadcasts featuring exclusive content from The Witcher franchise. Interactive panels and behind-the-scenes reveals are just a few of the exciting things being cooked up for the main event. We will also learn more about the upcoming mobile game The Witcher: Monster Slayer, Netflix’s The Witcher, and the upcoming anime Nightmare of the Wolf. Fans will also get to dive into the lore, monsters, and origin story of the Continent.

Before you get your hopes up, it’s worth mentioning that there will not be a new Witcher game announced during WitcherCon, according to the official WitcherCon website. However, with the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher on the horizon, it seems likely the virtual convention will focus more on ramping up for the new season.

Witcher fans can tune in to watch WitcherCon on both CD Projekt Red’s and Netflix’s Twitch and YouTube channels, starting on July 9 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. A second livestream featuring more exclusive content will air at 6:00 p.m. PDT across both channels. Stay tuned for further updates and head over to the WitcherCon website for details.
