In an update on their Kickstarter page, Crema has announced that it has teamed up with Humble to publish Temtem. It is a move that will allow the team to focus on the development of the game, and leave the publishing details up to Humble.
Making a game is an incredibly hard and huge task. There are so many things involved in the process and a team our size can hardly manage to achieve every single of them correctly. We love developing games, we love to think about and implement new mechanics, we love listening to the community and shaping the game how you want. But there’s so much more involved in the process that is not really developing the game: marketing, contacting distributors, merchandising, reaching out to streamers and sites, talking to platform holders. That’s why we’ve decided to partner with Humble to publish Temtem.
Crema is also opening the Discord pre-order store for another 24 hours starting at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 8 pm CEST, July 19. You can pre-order the game on Discord, and Humble. Purchasing the game will get you access to the Alpha, which is regularly updated by Crema.
What Is Temtem?
You may not have heard of Temtem, so I will give a brief rundown on the game. Temtem is very much Crema’s take on Pokemon, as you will be exploring six islands and discovering new species of Temtems. On the Airborne Archipelago, a group of floating islands, Temtems and humans coexist peacefully. Temtem tamers travel across the islands in search of new and rare Temtems. There is, of course, a devilish plan brewing among some inhabitants of the islands, and you will need to take them on in battles.
The game will feature online co-op play, house building and decorating, character customization, and even competitive play. It looks like a solid choice if you are interested in Pokemon games but have never owned Nintendo systems.
