Get ready to take to the streets with a brand new playable character in Streets of Rage 4. The guitar rocker Cherry Hunter joins the beat’em up world to make the streets a better place.
Cherry Hunter – Streets of Rage 4
Streets of Rage is a side-scrolling beat’em up that first debuted in 1991 on the Sega Genesis. Streets of Rage 4 takes place 10 years after the events of Streets of Rage 3 and includes returning characters Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding.
Joining Axel and Blaze is a brand new character that has ties to the third original character in the series. Cherry Hunter is taking after her father, Adam Hunter, and fighting back the baddies on the street. Bringing a guitar with her, this rock badass sports the famous yellow shirt that her father Adam and Uncle Eddie “Skate” Hunter has worn in the past.
Cherry can easily slash and riff through enemies with ease and has some gnarly tricks up her sleeve. One has to wonder if she hasn’t learned some of her moves from her Uncle Eddie. Cherry Hunter is the third of four playable characters in Streets of Rage 4.
Streets of Rage 4 is being developed by Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games, and Dotemu. With no release date announced and one more playable character to be revealed, fans of the Streets of Rage series are ecstatic to see one of the best games on Sega come back.
Being one of those fans, it’s great to see the developers treat the series with a lot of respect and keep it as close to the original story while still expand on the growing world of Streets of Rage. Streets of Rage 4 will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned to Guide Stash for more news on Streets of Rage 4 and our reactions on it when we head to PAX West.
