Starfield Will Launch as an Xbox Exclusive in 2022

Bethesda’s new spacefaring RPG will launch exclusively for Xbox Series X and PC next year.

Starfield is Bethesda Game Studios’ first new game in 25 years. To say that fans have been eager for more information about Starfield would be an understatement. On Sunday, Bethesda came through with new details about the upcoming spacefaring RPG during E3 2021’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Bethesda released a new trailer called Into the Starfield the following day, offering a look at the game’s concept art and development progress. Both Starfield trailers are available below.

Starfield Teaser Trailer

Described as a “next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars,” Starfield is the newest open-world adventure to come out of Bethesda Game Studios, the creators behind Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Players can look forward to embarking on missions and exploring the vast reaches of space with “unparalleled freedom.”

Into the Starfield Trailer

Starfield is scheduled to arrive on November 11, 2022, exclusively for Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC. Hardly surprising, considering Bethesda is a part of Microsoft now. As such, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play Starfield on day one. Despite being described as a next-gen RPG, the game will not be coming to PlayStation 5.
