Respawn Entertainment is Working on Three New Star Wars Games

The new titles include an FPS, a strategy game, and the follow up to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Alongside Lucasfilm Games, Electronic Arts has put Respawn Entertainment in charge of developing three new Star Wars games, according to a press release today from the publisher. Respawn Founder and Group GM Vince Zampella will be overseeing the project. The three titles include the next installment of the Star Wars Jedi franchise, a new first-person shooter, and a strategy game published in collaboration with Bit Reactor.

Game Director Stig Asmussen and his team are currently working on the follow up to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, according to today’s announcement. Respawn is also developing a brand new first-person shooter, led by Game Director Peter Hirschmann. Hirschmann was executive producer on the original Star Wars Battlefront games and has also worked as VP of Development at LucasArts. “Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell,” said Hirschmann.

The third title is a new strategy game set in the Star Wars universe. Respawn is collaborating with Bit Reactor, a newly formed studio led by former XCOM 2 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown Art Director Greg Foerstch, to develop the strategy game while Respawn will produce the title.

Respawn is currently hiring for all three teams working on Star Wars titles. “We are huge fans of Star Wars here at Respawn and we’re thrilled to work with Lucasfilm Games on new titles that we have wanted to make for years,” said Zampella. “If you want to make great Star Wars games, you should come join us on our journey.” Stay tuned to Guide Stash for updates.
