Those of us practicing social distancing for the next few weeks will have plenty of games to play during the downtime. One of those games is the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3, which console and PC players will soon have a chance to try out.
Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo
The Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo will be available March 19, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The demo will begin at 12:00 a.m. ET on Xbox One and 1:00 p.m. ET on PS4 and Steam. Upon completing the demo, players will get to see an exclusive cinematic trailer for Resident Evil 3, according to Capcom.
In the demo, players take on the role of Jill Valentine, the iconic heroine from the very first game in the series. Assisted by Carlos Oliveira, players are tasked with helping civilians evacuate Raccoon City while simultaneously trying to avoid the hulking bioweapon, Nemesis.
Players looking for a bit of added challenge are encouraged to take part in the Mr. Charlie scavenger hunt within the demo. There are 20 statues to find and destroy throughout the demo, and an on-screen counter will keep tally of your findings.
Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta
Resident Evil Resistance, the asymmetrical multiplayer game arriving alongside Resident Evil 3, will enter open beta on March 27. The open beta begins at 3:00 a.m. ET on Xbox One and PS4, and 1:00 p.m. ET on Steam. In Resistance, players can take on the role of either a Mastermind or a Survivor. The Mastermind experiments on civilians to turn them into bioweapons, while the Survivors must attempt to escape the experiment.
The Resident Evil Resistance open beta will end when Resident Evil 3 launches on April 3, 2020. The game is available for pre-order for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam.
