The worst kept secret in the gaming world over the last year recently came to pass; Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC, only its arrival is sooner than most expected. With Rockstar Games about to take Arthur Morgan’s story to the PC platform on November 5, fans were treated to the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC launch trailer today. It’s nothing that those of us who have played it haven’t already seen, but it’s still a reminder that we’re days out from release.
If you’re planning to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, the Rockstar Games launcher has the option to preload it right now. If Steam is more your thing, you’ll need to wait until December. I’d rather play it on Steam, personally, which is likely why Rockstar didn’t give gamers the option to play it there at the same time as it releases on their own launcher.
For those living under a rock, Red Dead Redemption 2 follows the path of Arthur Morgan as he grapples with life as an outlaw in the Van der Linde gang. Players will complete dozens of quests that see the gang try to find peace in a world that no longer welcomes the outlaw lifestyle, all while players decide if Arthur will go about his business with honor or dishonor.
While the story takes a few hours to really pick up, and some people never truly get into it, the open world is one of the best created. In an age where open-world games get pumped out every year or two by the same studios, Rockstar has taken the time to truly fine-tune Red Dead Redemption 2, and the result is an immersive world that will offer north of 100 hours of content. That might be daunting to some, but the story can be completed somewhat more quickly than that.
