Despite still being in beta form, Red Dead Online updates continue to roll in. The latest update to the online cowboy realm introduces the Evans Repeater, a new rifle for players to use, as well as a new game mode, Fool’s Gold.
Red Dead Online Evans Repeater Update
The world of Red Dead just got a little bit more dangerous. The Evans Repeater, a rifle some might remember from the original Red Dead Redemption, is now in Red Dead Online. This repeater-class rifle is a quick-firing, high capacity rifle that is rather accurate over medium to long ranges. You’ll be able to customize the Evans Repeater with different Stocks, Sights, and Wraps to further push its stats.
This new gun was actually teased at the end of February, when a preview of the update announced it. It’s good to see that not much time passes between the tease and release. The fun doesn’t stop at a new gun, though.
New Game Mode: Fool’s Gold
Fool’s Gold is a brand new Free Roam Event where players fight to wear and hold a full set of gold armor. While the armor is on, players earn points by taking down other players. If you die while wearing the armor, it’ll drop to the ground and the first person to pick it up puts it on. It’s a unique twist on the classic “hold object to win” game type.
Because Fool’s Gold is a Free Roam Event, you can simply jump in and out for some quick and easy XP – a great way to level and check off some bounties.
Free Care Package for Players
As a “thank you” for playing this week, Rockstar are giving players a care package full of supplies. These goods should help anyone who is trying to save up their cash and want to avoid buying ammo, arrows, and horse medicine:
- 60x High Velocity Pistol Ammo
- 60x High Velocity Repeater Ammo
- 2x Fire Bottles
- 8x Fire Arrows
- 2x Jolly Jack’s
- 2x Potent Horse Medicine
- 1x Lake Lure
Also included in the Red Dead Online update is, allegedly, over 300 bug fixes. Unfortunately, there are no details on Rockstar’s post as to what’s been fixed. Stay tuned to Guide Stash as we bring you the latest news on Red Dead Online’s progress from beta to full release.
