Pokémon Sleep Launches for iOS and Android This Summer

Pokémon Sleep has stopped hitting snooze and is now expected to launch for smart devices this summer.

Select Button’s long-awaited sleep-monitoring game Pokémon Sleep is finally on its way to mobile devices this year, according to an announcement made during today’s Pokémon Presents event. Initially expected to launch in 2020, Pokémon Sleep will now arrive sometime this summer for iOS and Android devices.

Pokémon Sleep is a mobile game that uses your smart phone to monitor your sleep. Players collaborate with Professor Neroli and Snorlax to conduct research on the sleep habits of Pokémon. Doing so involves simply keeping your smart phone next to you while you sleep. The game will then use the data to categorize your quality of sleep into three category types, which will determine the types of Pokémon that will gather around Snorlax.

Pokémon Sleep can be paired with a new device called Pokémon GO Plus +, a separate physical accessory that resembles a Poké Ball and collects data while you sleep. It works by pressing a button on the device just before you hit the hay. The accessory also features a built-in singing Pikachu that can lull you to sleep with lullabies and has multiple alarm sounds to unlock.

As the next iteration of the original Pokémon GO Plus bracelet, it will also work with Pokémon GO. Those who link their Pokémon GO Plus + device to Pokémon GO will unlock a special research opportunity that leads to an encounter with a nightcap-wearing Snorlax.

Pokémon Sleep will launch in Summer 2023 for Android and iOS devices. Pokémon GO Plus + will release in July. You can learn more about Pokémon Sleep on the Pokémon website. Check out our archives for more Pokémon-related gaming content.
