Remember, you can basically double your party size if everyone has a bear. Pillars of Eternity is coming to the Switch next month.
Obsidian Entertainment has announced that Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition is getting a Switch release. The Complete Edition includes all additional content from the PC edition. This means it will come with the expansions as well. The game will release for Nintendo Switch on August 8, 2019. Pillars of Eternity is a real-time, strategy roleplaying game that released to critical acclaim on PC. Originally crowdfunded by over 70,000 people, it has since spawned a sequel and even an effective offshoot in the form of Tyranny.
Take your party on the ultimate role-playing experience, Pillars of Eternity finally comes to Nintendo Switch! Created by the masters at Obsidian Entertainment, Pillars of Eternity released to critical acclaim and dozens of awards on PC. Now the fantastical world, tactical combat, and unforgettable storyline can be taken anywhere you go.
The game has been optimized for the Switch’s controllers, and can be “played comfortably in front of your TV with controllers or in handheld mode.” For many people, Pillars of Eternity marked a return of the classic isometric RPG. You can choose from six races: Human, Aumaua, Dwarf, Elf, Godlike, and Orlan. All the usual RPG mechanics are there, from varied items and equipment to abilities and skills. The eleven classes include Barbarians, Chanters, Fighters, Rogues, and Wizards.
Pre-rendered environments lend the game’s world a beautiful aesthetic, and the story is rich and engaging. It is a very easy game to lose yourself in for hours at a time. The only downside at the moment is there has been no word of a physical release yet. Switch storage is a precious commodity, and a game like this is likely to be fairly large. Hopefully, a physical release will happen. I think a lot of people would appreciate it.
