Operation: Tango, the upcoming asymmetrical co-op game from developer Clever Plays, is set to launch this June for consoles and PC. Today, the developers revealed that PlayStation Plus subscribers on PlayStation 5 will be able to download Operation: Tango for free as part of the PS Plus lineup for June.
Operation: Tango will be available as a free download starting on June 1, 2021, which is also when the game launches simultaneously for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will be a free download until July 5 for PS Plus subscribers on PS5. Those looking to purchase the game can do so for $19.99 USD.
Described as a “spy-themed escape room,” Operation: Tango is an asymmetric co-op game where players team up with a partner to complete missions together as either an Agent or a Hacker. Here’s the catch: co-op companions can only communicate via voice chat and are otherwise experiencing the game separately from one another. Clear communication is key to solving the game’s many puzzles and objectives.
To ensure players can easily partner up with friends on any platform, Operation: Tango supports full cross-platform play across consoles and PC. Clever Plays also created the Friend Pass, which allows players who own Operation: Tango to invite a friend to download a demo of the game on any platform. The demo is available for free, provided that the person playing the demo is doing so alongside someone who owns the full game.
“We’ve had such fun seeing how different pairs of people interact and connect with each other while playing our game,” said Angela Mejia, co-founder and studio head at Clever Plays. “It’s our goal to get Operation: Tango into the hands of as many players as possible, so we are thrilled to be selected as one of the games offered to PS5 PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of June.” Head over to the Operation: Tango website for more details.
