During the Ghost Recon 20th Anniversary Showcase, Ubisoft revealed Ghost Recon Frontline, the next installment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise. Ghost Recon Frontline Reveal Trailer
Ghost Recon Frontline will offer several game modes, but its main one is Expedition. This mode is essentially battle royale with a tactical twist, making for a more strategic PvP experience. In Expedition, 100 players face off on a large, open map in squads of three. Squads are tasked with collecting intel and then taking it to a drop zone for extraction. Doing so alerts other players to the drop zone, posing a threat to successful extraction. Players will need to work with their teammates and use all the tactical capabilities at their disposal to fend off other squads and successfully escape.
Frontline will also feature a class system that allows players to customize their playable contractors to their liking. Three classes will be available at launch: Assault, Support, and Scout.
“We can’t wait to see players’ reactions during the first test of Ghost Recon Frontline,” said Bogdan Bridinel, Creative Director at Ubisoft Bucharest. “We will be working hard to adjust the game accordingly throughout the several live phases planned before launch, as we want to deliver the most polished and entertaining experience possible for players.”
One of those live phases is coming up later this month on October 14. Those looking to test out Ghost Recon Frontline and help give feedback prior to launch can register for the upcoming closed test. The test will be for PC players in Europe only. Additional play tests for Frontline are planned for the future, so stay tuned for updates.
