Strategies have been updated so that players can assign different roles to their team members. NHL 23 will also feature Assisted Strategies, giving players the chance to change up their strategy during a game.

Last Chance Puck Movement will feature over 500 new gameplay animations, which will enhance the authenticity of in-game contact with other players. New animations have also been added for the game’s AI competitors. AI goalies have been given hundreds of new save animations, while AI skaters will have increased team awareness to play more convincingly like human players.

NHL 23 will also include two new X-Factors, one for each of the game’s two cover athletes, Sarah Nurse and Trevor Zegras. First introduced in NHL 22, the X-Factor system offers new player abilities based on the skills of certain hockey stars. In response to player feedback, the developers have re-worked several other gameplay features including the pass assist and the poke check, according to the latest blog post.

NHL 23 launches on October 14 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Those who pre-order the X-Factor Edition will be granted three days of early access. Stay tuned to Guide Stash for more NHL 23 news and updates.
