EA Sports recently announced that the fan-favorite NHL 94 will soon make its debut on modern consoles in NHL 94 Rewind. The remake is a pre-order incentive for NHL 21, which arrives on October 16, 2020. The Rewind announcement features a retro version of NHL 21 cover athlete Alex Ovechkin, who responded to the news with the enthusiastic tweet below.

The remake features the classic 16-bit graphics and controls of the original, but with the current rosters and teams of today. Players who pre-order NHL 21 can play NHL 94 Rewind on October 30, 2020. EA released several face-off screenshots on the game’s official website showing what to expect.
It is currently unclear whether NHL 94 Rewind will release as a standalone title at the end of October. EA has not specified a price for the game, either. If you want to try your hand at the remake, then pre-ordering NHL 21 is your only option for now.
NHL 21 releases on October 16, 2020 for $59.99. The game will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Check out some of our previous NHL 21 coverage for more details and stay tuned for future game updates.
