MultiVersus Season 1 Has Been Delayed

Although the Battle Pass has been extended, the arrival of Morty will have to wait.

Despite receiving mostly positive reception since its Open Beta launch last month, hit platform fighting game MultiVersus is being delayed indefinitely. More specifically, the developers have chosen to delay the launch of Season 1 in MultiVersus and have given no new release date, according to a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account on Wednesday.

“A big thank you to everyone playing MultiVersus,” begins the tweet thread. “It’s exciting to see so many players enjoying the game and the launch of the Open Beta is just the beginning.

“We want to let everyone know that we are delaying the start of Season 1 & the release of Morty to a later date. We know this might be disappointing for some and want to assure our Community that we are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players.”

The developers clarified in a follow-up tweet that the MultiVersus Pre-Season Battle Pass has been extended until August 15 due to the Season 1 delay. The end date listed in-game will not change, however.

MultiVersus was originally slated to launch on August 9, 2022. No new release date has been given following the delay announcement. Nevertheless, MultiVersus is still in open beta and is free to play on PC as well as Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 consoles.
