Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Gets Third Free Update

The latest update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne adds new monster variants and a new seasonal event.

The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion has just received its third free content update on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The update introduces players to two new monster variants, layered weapons, a new seasonal event, and additional content for Iceborne. A recent developer diary video released alongside the content update gives players a sneak peek at upcoming challenges and quests.

In the latest update, players looking for a challenge can attempt to take on two new monster variants: Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios. The former comes equipped with fewer weak points and more mid- to long-range attacks. The latter features a more volatile coating than its regular counterpart, providing players with an even more explosive battle. Conquer these variants to get new Palico gear, weapons, and armor sets.

The third content update also introduces layered weapons to Iceborne. Players can now enhance the look of their weapons without altering their stats. Fully upgraded weapons will start with a base frame and can be modified with various monster part attachments.  Additional layered weapons with new designs are also on the way in April.

Title Update 3 for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is now available for players on PS4 and Xbox One. The update will come to PC on April 8, 2020. At this time, all Iceborne players can partake in the Full Bloom Fest, the new in-game seasonal event. The event comes equipped with new canteen meals, pendants, Poogie costumes, Palico gear, and more. Spring is in the air, so be sure to log in during the seasonal event to earn tickets for crafting the rosy event armor.
