Developers for Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin revealed new details for the two games today during the Monster Hunter Digital Event. The event featured new gameplay trailers and information for both upcoming Nintendo Switch titles. Today’s digital event is the first in a series of live events celebrating Monster Hunter Anniversary Week.
During the digital event, developers gave an in-depth overview of the new Rampage quest type in Monster Hunter Rise. In Rampage, players work with people of Kamura Village to prepare defenses and protect the Stronghold from pending monster invasions. The developers also covered various gameplay and multiplayer features, including dynamic difficulty scaling and the new “Hunter Connect” feature.
Demo Version 2
The developers also confirmed that a second demo for Monster Hunter Rise is just around the corner. Monster Hunter Rise Demo Version 2 will be available to download for free in the Nintendo eShop starting on March 11, 2021. In the updated demo, players will embark on a challenging hunt to slay the mighty Magnamalo. This is in addition to the four quests that were available in the January demo. Quest counters from the initial demo are being reset for the new, more difficult version. Now is your last chance to try the game ahead of its Switch release on March 26.

Today’s digital event also debuted a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which you can watch below. The trailer confirms the game’s July 9 release date and teases the addition of new co-op multiplayer quests. The Deluxe Edition of the game includes special armor sets and cosmetic items. Additional bonus content will be available to those with Monster Hunter Rise save data.
