Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Sixth World Update is Now Available

Fly over new and improved landmarks in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland in the latest World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The sixth World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator launched earlier this week, bringing visual enhancements to the countries of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Microsoft revealed the World Update locations last month during Gamescom 2021. As of Tuesday, Flight Simulator players can download World Update VI for free on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The sixth World Update offers visual upgrades for various landmarks and locations in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. The update features new high-resolution elevation maps and new aerial imagery, along with new hand-crafted points of interest and additional airports such as Klagenfurt, Lübeck, Stuttgart, and St. Gallen. Pilots can fly over several brand-new 3D cities as well, including Basel in Switzerland and Graz and Vienna in Austria. New discovery flights and landing challenges are also available.

World Update VI is available as a free download for all Microsoft Flight Simulator users via the Microsoft Store, Xbox App, and Steam. Microsoft Flight Simulator initially released on August 18, 2020 for Windows 10 PC. The game eventually made its console debut on July 27, 2021 when the game released for Xbox Series X and Series S.
