Marvel fans looking to get their hands on Marvel’s Avengers will have one more chance to do so. This weekend, the Marvel’s Avengers open beta will be available for free to all players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This is likely the last chance players will have to try the game ahead of its release next month.
Marvel’s Avengers Open Beta
Earlier this month, publisher Square Enix conducted two previous beta weekends for select players. The first was a closed beta for those who had pre-ordered the game on PS4. Last weekend, Xbox One and PC pre-orders had the chance to play next, alongside all PS4 owners. Now, the last Marvel’s Avengers open beta will run from August 21-23 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Although you don’t need Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus, you do need an internet connection to play the open beta on Xbox One and PS4.
This weekend, beta players can look forward to trying out four of the game’s single-player Hero Missions, along with three HARM Room challenges. Console players who link their Epic Games and Square Enix Members accounts can earn special Hulk-themed gear in Fortnite for completing three HARM Room challenges. Five Drop Zones and four War Zones will be available as well, which can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players.
“Our previous beta weekends have already seen millions of gamers spend tens of millions of hours teaming up and smashing enemies as their favorite Super Heroes,” said Scot Amos, Studio Head at Crystal Dynamics. “We’re really looking forward to opening up the beta to anyone who wants to play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC so they too can take the role of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”
Marvel’s Avengers will release on September 4, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more information on this weekend’s open beta, head over to the latest Marvel’s Avengers patch notes.
