Horizon Forbidden West, the anticipated sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, has reportedly been delayed and is now expected to release in 2022. The game was previously scheduled to launch on PlayStation consoles this holiday season.

The news comes by way of Bloomberg in a report claiming that Horizon Forbidden West‘s delay has been confirmed by “a person familiar with the matter.” Although the delay has not been officially announced by Sony, rumors of a possible delay have been circling since video game reporter Jeff Grubb recently mentioned the issue during the Giant Bomb podcast. There was even uncertainty surrounding the initial holiday season release window, according to Bloomberg.
When the time comes, Horizon Forbidden West will launch for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The Horizon Forbidden West game page on PlayStation Store has the release date as “to be confirmed,” while the Guerilla Games website still states the game is coming in 2021. Sony may make an official announcement regarding Horizon Forbidden West’s release date sometime soon, so stay tuned for updates.
