On Thursday, Sony revealed brand new gameplay footage of Horizon Forbidden West during their State of Play presentation. The gameplay was captured directly on PlayStation 5, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect when the game arrives. The full 14 minutes of gameplay footage are available in the video below.
Horizon Forbidden West PS5 Gameplay
In the footage, Aloy discovers a rebel faction known as the Tenakth tribe, who have found a way to wrangle and control machines into submission. The tribe members are adept fighters and will likely be a formidable foe in the upcoming game. Luckily, Aloy will have several new gadgets and tools at her disposal this time around.
The gameplay footage shows Aloy using several new tools that will help her maneuver across the ruins of San Francisco. The first is the Pullcaster, which is said to help speed up climbing. Aloy’s newly upgraded Focus will also allow her to see free-climbing areas. Aloy has a new glider called the Shieldwing, which will allow her to safely drop down from heights. The new Diving Mask opens up new underwater areas to explore.
The gameplay footage also revealed some of the massive machines that Aloy will face in the upcoming adventure. Some of the new mechanical creatures include Snapmaws, Sunwings, and Clawstriders. From fighting rebels to tackling Tremortusks, Aloy will certainly have her work cut out for her in Horizon Forbidden West.
