Hitman 3 to Launch With PlayStation VR Support

Players will have the chance to experience iconic locations from the Hitman trilogy in virtual reality next year.

Players will soon get to experience the Hitman series in a whole new way. According to a recent announcement from developer and publisher IO Interactive, Hitman 3 will come with PlayStation VR support at launch. This support is not exclusive to Hitman 3, either. “Every location from the World of Assassination trilogy can be enjoyed in VR,” reads the announcement. You can get a glimpse at the game’s new first-person perspective in the trailer below.

Players will be able to import locations into Hitman 3 that they own from the previous two Hitman titles. This function allows players to experience more than 20 locations from the series in VR. Imported locations must be launched from within Hitman 3 to be played in VR. The announcement states that the developers are “working to finalize the specifics for how PSVR owners can enjoy HITMAN in VR,” and that more details on how this all works will be revealed in the coming months.

“HITMAN 3 will act as a platform for the entire trilogy, and we are excited to finally realise a vision that we had five years ago; to create a game world that would continually grow and expand over time,” says IO Interactive’s previous announcement from June 2020. “In the coming months, we’ll share precise details about how location and progression carryover will work.”

Being able to play Hitman 3 and all previous locations in VR offers a new level of immersion. It also opens up a range of possibilities for exploration and completing missions in creative ways. Hitman 3 releases in January 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Stadia, and PC. Head over to the Hitman website for more info and be sure to check back here for updates.
