Xbox Series S Price & Release Date

The Xbox Series S console costs $299. For reference, a current-gen Xbox One S bundle costs roughly the same price. Microsoft has yet to announce the official price of the Xbox Series X. However, according to a report from Windows Central, the Xbox Series X will cost $499. The Series S is considered to be Microsoft’s more affordable next-gen console option. The Xbox Series S will release on November 10, 2020.

According to the reveal trailer, the Xbox Series S is nearly 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X. The Series S is also an all-digital console, so it doesn’t have a disc drive. Here’s what we know about the Series S so far:

  • All-digital
  • 1440p at up to 120 FPS
  • DirectX ray tracing
  • Variable rate shading
  • Variable refresh rate
  • Ultra-low latency
  • Custom 512 GB SSD
  • 4K streaming media playback
  • 4K upscaling for games

The Series S stands out from the solid rectangular design of the Series X model. The console is smaller, thinner, and features a white exterior with a circular black vent, a design that has already prompted numerous memes online. Stay tuned for more next-gen console details.
