Veteran RAM manufacturer Corsair expanded its line of gaming-centric products significantly today with the acquisition of Origin PC.

Corsair, the makers of high-performance PC components and peripherals, are familiar to most PC gamers. In addition to memory modules, Corsair offers a wide range of gaming peripherals. Their lineup of products aimed at gamers has grown significantly today as they announced their acquisition of Origin PC.

Origin PC is a builder of high-end gaming systems that takes the complexity out of building your own machine. They have been in the business of assembling high-quality rigs for a variety of budgets and purposes for years. Corsair’s acquisition provides them with instant clout and expertise in this area.

“With the gaming PC market continuing to expand as an increasing number of players make the jump from console to PC, we wanted to do more to reach customers in North America that prefer to buy, rather than build, their system,” said Andy Paul, Founder and CEO of Corsair. “With Origin PC’s expertise in personalized custom gaming systems and Corsair’s strength in performance PC hardware and the iCUE software ecosystem, we’re excited to combine our efforts to create new world-class gaming experiences for PC gamers.”

“Corsair is a fantastic partner to help take Origin PC forward, known for creating quality, high-performance products that fully align with Origin PC,” said Kevin Wasielewski, CEO of Origin PC. “With a complete range of enthusiast PC products, Origin PC and Corsair are uniquely placed to create amazing new systems that make the experience of owning a personalized custom gaming PC better than ever.”

Corsair and Origin PC Will Co-Exist

According to the press release, both Origin PC and Corsair will continue to operate as individual brands and continue producing their existing line of products. That means that the Corsair range of systems, such as the Corsair One Pro, will remain available. The partnership between Origin PC and Corsair will extend the reach of tools such as Corsair iCue, which covers a wide variety of RGB lighting and tuning controls in its ecosystem. We expect to see many great Origin PCs custom-built and support by Corsair’s peripherals and expertise in the future.
