Halo fans will soon get to enjoy the classic Halo games on PC, according to an announcement during Inside Xbox. Microsoft is bringing all the original Halo games to PC for the first time in Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC). To sweeten the deal, the collection will also come with Halo: Reach, making for a complete Halo experience on PC.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection originally released for Xbox One back in 2014. The collection bundles Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (campaign), and Halo 4 into one nostalgic package. Halo: Reach will now accompany the classics in the collection’s move to PC as well.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available on the Microsoft Store later this year. Plus, fans will be able to pick up the MCC on Steam for the first time. You won’t be able to get the entire collection on PC all at once, however. The games will arrive in stages, starting with Halo: Reach and releasing chronologically thereafter. Each game can be purchased individually as they are released.
The team at 343 Industries is working hard to ensure that the quality of the MCC is top notch. Each title in the collection, including Halo: Reach, will run at 60FPS and is 4K/HDR ready. “We’re embarking on a journey with our community to build a real PC experience that delivers on PC gamer expectations,” said the developers in a news post. “The team is passionately committed to ensuring that all the features, bells, and whistles expected in a modern PC title are included with MCC.”
The developers are proud to finally bring Halo fans what they’ve been adamantly asking for over the years. Halo: Reach is in the MCC, and the entire Halo saga is coming to PC. Life doesn’t get much better if you’re a Halo fan and a PC gamer. Halo: The Master Chief Collection heads to PC later this year.
