Forza Horizon 4 is officially headed to Steam, according to an announcement today on the Forza Motorsport blog. Although the open-world racing game is already available on PC, this marks the first time players will get behind the wheel via Steam.
Forza Horizon 4 releases on Steam on March 9, 2021. Development studio Playground Games has joined forces with Sumo Nottingham to prepare the game for its Steam debut.
The Steam version of Forza Horizon 4 comes with cross-play support, meaning players can drive through Britain alongside friends playing on Xbox and Windows 10 PC. Even Android players who have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can join in on the cross-play fun thanks to cloud gaming.
Although the game will support cross-play, this doesn’t mean it will support cross-saves. The Steam Cloud allows players to save and transfer their game progress between PCs. However, it is important to note that Forza Horizon 4 will not support cross-save between Steam and other platforms “due to technical limitations.”
