Brooding monster slayer Geralt of Rivia will be making his way to Fortnite as the result of a collaboration between Epic Games and CD Projekt Red. News of Geralt’s pending arrival was revealed this past weekend in the launch trailer for Fortnite Chapter 4, which includes a brief cameo of Geralt.
Geralt in Fortnite Chapter 4
Geralt will join the battle royale as a playable character to be unlocked mid-season. As such, Geralt is not yet available in Fortnite, despite the launch of Chapter 4 earlier today. According to the in-game Battle Pass menu, Geralt will unlock in 64 days, placing his arrival in the first week of February 2023. Geralt arrives alongside several other Witcher-themed unlockable items in the Gaming Legends Series, including new dual-sword Back Bling and an Igni Sign Emote.
The Fortnite version of Geralt resembles his likeness from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, giving players a glimpse at what Geralt can look like in Unreal Engine 5. The next time we’ll see a UE5 interpretation of Geralt will be when The Witcher remake arrives in the future.
It looks like players will have to wait a while before getting to embody Geralt in Fortnite Chapter 4. Until then, stay tuned for more updates on all things Witcher.
