As Fortnite Season 10 draws near, players are rushing to complete any remaining challenges they have in a last-minute effort to level up. To aid in the leveling process, Epic Games has unleased a series of Overtime Challenges that offer extra XP and rewards for a limited time. The Season 9 Overtime Challenges went live on July 23 and will be available until the end of July.
Fortnite’s Overtime Challenges for Season 9 consist of three Battle Pass challenges and a series of free challenges, with new challenges being revealed over the course of the week. The Battle Pass Overtime Challenges essentially involve completing multiple free challenges, so it’s the freebies you’ll want to focus on.
Season 9 Overtime Challenges
Completing all 12 Overtime Challenges will grant 15,000 XP to increase your Season Level. Several new outfit variants and additional XP rewards are up for grabs as well. Below, we’ll go over the current Overtime Challenges and how to complete them.
Eliminate others with the assistance of a Friend in your party
- Reward: 2,300 XP
This challenge initially said to “work together with friends to get eliminations.” This proved a bit confusing, and Epic has since changed the wording on the challenge as a result. To complete this challenge, players must party up with a friend and assist one another in getting eliminations. Both you and your friend in your party must damage the same opponent before eliminating them in order for the elimination to count toward the challenge.
Damage opponents with Shotguns
- Reward: 2,500 XP
This challenge is pretty straightforward. Simply damage enemies with shotguns within the regular multiplayer game modes (not Playground). You’ll need to deal a total of 2,500 damage with shotguns to complete this challenge. No shotgun types were specified, so just pick up your favorite shotty and get shooting!
Visit Loot Lake, Polar Peak, and Pressure Plant
- Reward: “Ready to Fight” Loading Screen
So far, this free Overtime Challenge is the easiest to complete. All you have to do is visit the three locations listed above: Loot Lake, Polar Peak, and Pressure Plant. You don’t have to visit them in any particular order. You should be able to complete this challenge in three matches or less depending on how quickly you traverse across the map.
That’s all of the Overtime Challenges for now, but new challenges will unlock throughout the week.
