Fortnite has introduced a new healing item to Battle Royale that allows players to replenish the health of their allies on the fly. The item is called the Chug Splash, and it arrived alongside a handful of changes in today’s 9.30 patch update. Here’s what we know about the new item based on the official Fortnite 9.30 patch notes.
What is the Chug Splash in Fortnite?
The Chug Splash is a consumable beverage item that players can throw at nearby teammates to restore a portion of their health and shields. On impact, the Chug Splash explodes, and anyone standing within the splash radius will receive 20 health and shield points. For those at full health, the Chug Splash will only grant additional shields instead. You can check out the Chug Splash in action in the video below.
It is best to use this support item in Squads or other team-based game modes for players who want to top off the health and shields of their allies during combat. However, it’s important to note that the Chug Splash does not discriminate when it comes to heals, as it can heal enemy players as well. You can find Chug Splash items inside of Vending Machines, Supply Drops, Chests, and Llamas, or as Floor Loot. Players will find them in stacks of two and can hold up to six stacks max.
New Limited-Time Modes
The Chug Splash isn’t the only new addition to arrive in Fortnite with patch 9.30. Several new limited-time modes have opened up as well. These include Sniper Shootout (snipers only), Trios (three-player squads), and Solid Gold Squads (legendary weapons only).
Prop Hunt – Creative Mode
For players who are fans of building their own islands in Creative mode, this update brought several new features for you as well. Players can now build upon two new islands, Wasteland and Caldera. For a custom game of hide-and-seek, players can also construct their own game of Prop Hunt using the new Prop Hunt tools in Fortnite.
As usual, this patch update also came loaded with various bug fixes and gameplay adjustments as well. Head over to the full Fortnite 9.30 patch notes for details on all the changes.
