Earlier today, Bandai Namco and From Software announced that the punishing action RPG Elden Ring has sold more than 20 million units worldwide. The news arrives mere days ahead of the game’s one-year release anniversary, which lands on February 25.
Achieving such a milestone means fans can hopefully look forward to more Elden Ring-related game content in the future, at least from how the press release makes it sound. “The companies would like to thank everyone who has played this game from the bottom of their hearts, and will continue to develop various ways for the fans to enjoy the world of ‘ELDEN RING’ in the future.” While the game received multiplayer DLC last December in the form of the free Colosseum Update, there has yet to be any announcement of campaign DLC.
Though an impressive feat, the sales milestone is not entirely surprising considering Elden Ring was also crowned Game of the Year at The Game Awards last December, alongside other accolades. Nevertheless, Elden Ring deserves the praise it has received since releasing on consoles and PC in February 2022. Perhaps the developers have something planned for the game’s upcoming one-year launch anniversary, so be sure to stay tuned to Guide Stash for updates.
