Electronic Arts Announces EA Sports PGA Tour

EA has partnered with the PGA Tour to develop a new, next-generation golf video game.

Electronic Arts is working on a next-generation golf video game called EA Sports PGA Tour, according to a news release on Monday. The game will allow fans to virtually enjoy various PGA Tour events, including the FedExCup Playoffs and The Players Championship. Players will get to experience famous golf courses and compete as and against iconic professional golfers.

Although no platforms have been specified, EA Sports PGA Tour is being made with next-generation tech in mind. “The game will be built on the EA Frostbite engine and leveraging next-gen technology, promises stunning fidelity, breathtaking immersive environments, and approachable, dynamic gameplay,” reads the news release.

“We are thrilled to continue working with EA SPORTS on its golf franchise to authentically represent the PGA TOUR for the next generation,” said Len Brown, PGA TOUR Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of Licensing and Merchandising. “The newest game will give golf fans another way to experience their favorite sport, or to discover their passion for it.”
