On Tuesday, Bungie launched the Season of the Wish, the final season for Destiny 2 before the release of The Final Shape expansion next year. This season unfolds the narrative initiated over the past year, centering around the discovery of a concealed Ahamkara egg. With the arrival of Season of the Wish comes the introduction of weekly story missions, the Riven’s Lair activity, the return of The Citadel map in the Crucible, and an all-new dungeon.
Another noteworthy addition is the Fireteam Finder feature, which is set for beta testing starting November 30, 2023. The Fireteam Finder allows players to connect with other Guardians for events that require groups, such as raids, dungeons, Crucible matches, strikes, and seasonal activities.
On December 1, Destiny 2 players can delve into Warlord’s Ruin, the second dungeon in the year of Lightfall. Available to Lightfall owners who have either the Annual Pass or Lightfall Dungeon Key, this challenge promises an engaging experience for those seeking new adventures.
The arrival of winter marks the return of The Dawning celebration, which kicks off on December 12. Eva Levante will task players with baking delectable treats for a winter celebration. Looking ahead to February, Guardians can anticipate Moments of Triumph, celebrating the past year through challenges and Triumphs to earn exclusive rewards. March will bring back the intense class vs. class battles with the return of the Guardian Games event.
Bungie recently announced a new launch date for The Final Shape, pushing the expansion’s release to June 4, 2024 to allow extra time to ensure it meets expectations. There is plenty for Guardians to look forward to in the months ahead, so be sure to check back here for more Destiny 2 updates.
