As the arrival of The Witch Queen draws near, Bungie has released a new video documentary (ViDoc) that goes behind-the-scenes with the upcoming expansion. The video features unseen footage as well as new gameplay showcasing what players can look forward to when the expansion lands later this month on February 22.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen ViDoc
In the ViDoc, Bungie developers delve into the process behind creating Savathûn, The Witch Queen, along with the expansion’s bosses and environments. As part of the expansion, Bungie is also introducing a new legendary difficulty level to Destiny 2 called Become Legend. “It’s not for the faint of heart,” said Destiny 2 Creative Director James Tsai. “It’s going to be loaded with these moments that are going to be frustrating, almost teeth gnashing, but when you get through those encounters you’re going to feel really accomplished.”
Weapon crafting is one of the new features being introduced to Destiny 2 as part of The Witch Queen expansion. Along with crafting comes a new weapon archetype called the glaive, which players will need to craft in order to obtain. Today’s ViDoc gives a closer look at weapon crafting and how Guardians can use crafting to build weapons to fit their particular play style. The Void subclass system is also getting a huge overhaul next season, offering new ways for Guardians to customize their arsenal.
Alongside The Witch Queen comes the start of Season of the Risen. Both will arrive in Destiny 2 on February 22, 2022. Stay tuned to Guide Stash for more Destiny 2 coverage.
