A new Battlegrounds activity and more await Guardians in Destiny 2’s newest season.
As Destiny 2’s Season of the Hunt comes to an end, Bungie has unveiled the details for the upcoming season, Season of the Chosen. Next week, Season of the Chosen will introduce new Strikes, gear, and seasonal activities for Guardians to enjoy. The trailer below offers a brief look at what’s to come in Destiny 2’s newest season of content.
Season of the Chosen Trailer
Season of the Chosen will commence on February 9, 2021 and will continue through May 11, 2021. The season sees Guardians taking up arms against the Cabal. “With the Pyramids and Xivu Arath destabilizing the system, Empress Caiatl, leader of the Cabal and daughter of Calus, seeks an alliance,” reads Bungie’s latest press release. “But when she demands more than Zavala can offer, negotiations collapse, and Guardians must become the tip of the spear that strikes at her growing war council.”
One of the highlights of the upcoming season is the Battlegrounds, a three-player matchmade activity that pits players against Caiatl’s chosen warriors in ritual combat. Season of the Chosen also marks the return of the Devil’s Lair and Fallen S.A.B.E.R. Strikes from the original Destiny. A new Proving Grounds Strike will become available later in the season.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a new season without loads of new Exotics and gear to unlock. The Praefectus Armor Set and Ticuu’s Divination Exotic bow are among the more than 25 new weapons obtainable throughout the season.
You have until February 9 to finish up any remaining Season of the Hunt activities before Season of the Chosen arrives. Stay tuned to Guide Stash for more Destiny 2 updates.
