Destiny 2 Glimmer Cap to be Increased in Shadowkeep

Your Guardian will be a little richer with this increase of Glimmer in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep.

A lot of changes are coming our way in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep in how armor is upgraded. One of the most important changes coming will be the increase to the Glimmer cap.

Glimmer Cap to be Increased

One of the many things that has plagued Destiny is the cap on how much Glimmer your Guardian can hold. Having the ability to hold more Glimmer is something players have been wanting for a long time.

Players will finally get their wish as the Glimmer cap will be increased to 250,000 when Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches on October 1. Right now Guardians can hold only 100,000 Glimmer at this time. While this seems a lot, it is fairly easy to hit the current cap of 100,000.

Before Forsaken, it was difficult to spend Glimmer on items and it was a little painful to dismantle items that gave you Glimmer in return. The only way to save that Glimmer was to put the item in the Vault. These items took up valuable Vault space that could have been used for other items.

After Forsaken, players were able to visit Spider to spend Glimmer on planet resources that were required to infuse armor and weapons. During Season of Opulence, players were able to spend Glimmer on Rune Chests to acquire gear in the Menagerie and to purchase Triumphs for the Triumph Hall. This allows players to get rid of unwanted Shaders or gear that was taking up Vault space.

The increase will come when players need Glimmer to upgrade armor and insert mods with Armor 2.0. The video above gives players a sneak peek of how much it will cost to upgrade armor and insert mods. Without the Glimmer increase, it might have been difficult for players to do so.
