Bungie Reveals Lightfall Expansion During Destiny 2 Showcase

The studio has announced the details of the next Destiny 2 expansion alongside their partnership with Epic Games.

During the live Destiny 2 Showcase on Tuesday, Bungie officially announced the first details for the next expansion, Destiny 2: Lightfall. The showcase included the official Lightfall reveal trailer, which you will find embedded below. Pre-orders for the upcoming expansion are available now through the Bungie Store. Destiny 2: Lightfall Reveal Trailer

Destiny 2: Lightfall brings players one step closer to the end of the epic Light and Darkness saga. The expansion will take players to Neomuna, a technologically advanced city that features a colorful neon aesthetic. Lightfall will release on February 28, 2023. The showcase also included the announcement of Bungie’s partnership with Epic Games, which coincides with the arrival of Destiny on the Epic Games Store. Those who claim Destiny 2 on the Epic Games Store prior to August 30 will get the Destiny 2: 30th Anniversary Event pack for free.

Players will also find new Destiny-themed content in both Fortnite and Fall Guys as part of the partnership, which includes a new Fortnite island inspired by Destiny 2’s Crucible map Javelin-4 as well as new outfits based on iconic Destiny characters. Destiny 2 players will also find three new Fortnite-themed ornament sets available in-game, one for each class.

The Destiny 2 Showcase also revealed the Season of Plunder, the latest season to launch in Destiny 2. The season is now underway and will continue until December 6. Check out the archived Destiny 2 Showcase livestream for a full recap of everything announced.
