Cyberpunk 2077 Will Get a Major Update Early Next Year

The next big update for Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive early next year for all platforms.

Cyberpunk 2077 will get its next big patch update early next year, according to a recent earnings report from developer CD Projekt Red. The update will release alongside the next-gen console versions of Cyberpunk 2077, which are expected to release in the first quarter of 2022.

“We are hard at work on the next-gen version of Cyberpunk, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022, alongside another major update for all platforms,” says CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński in a recent press release summarizing the publisher’s Q3 earnings report for 2021.

Kiciński further states that “ongoing work” being done on the first Cyberpunk expansion as well as the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, which will feature visual upgrades as well as new content based on the Netflix adaptation. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of The Witcher 3 were recently delayed and are now expected to release in Q2 of 2022.

The earnings report goes on to mention that CD Projekt has teamed up with Drake Hollow developer The Molasses Flood to “work on a separate game based on one of CD Projekt’s IPs.” We will be sure to update you here as more details emerge regarding the next major update for Cyberpunk 2077.
