Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Expansion Revealed

Patch 1.6 also arrives today with new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners themed content and more.

Today, developer CD Projekt Red hosted a special Night City Wire livestream where the studio revealed the next expansion coming to Cyberpunk 2077 along with details on the game’s latest patch update. Update 1.6 features in-game content inspired by the upcoming Netflix anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is set to debut on the streaming platform next week on Tuesday, September 13.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Teaser

The upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is titled Phantom Liberty and will introduce a new set of characters for players to meet as V. Phantom Liberty is described as a spy-thriller expansion and will take place in a new district in Night City. Today’s announcement came with an official teaser trailer for the expansion, which you can watch below. Keanu Reeves will be reprising his role as rockerboy Johnny Silverhand in Phantom Liberty, which is scheduled to release in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and PC.

Patch 1.6 Edgerunners Update Out Now

Patch 1.6, which is aptly named the Edgerunners update, arrived today for Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and PC and is now available on all platforms.  Patch 1.6 brings new equippable items to the game that are inspired by the anime, such as the jacket worn by the show’s protagonist, David Martinez. The update also introduces a new clothing transmog system as well as cross-platform progression and various other gameplay updates. The official launch trailer for the Edgerunners update was shown during today’s Night City Wire showcase and is available in the video below.
