Remedy Announces Control Multiplayer Spin-off Game, Codenamed ‘Condor’

A “bigger-budget Control-game” aimed at expanding the Control franchise is also in the works.

Today, Remedy Entertainment announced that they have signed a co-publishing deal with 505 Games to develop a multiplayer spin-off game of Control. Remedy broke the news in a blog post penned by Control’s Game Director, Mikael Kasurinen.

The spin-off game, codenamed “Condor,” will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Condor will be a cooperative multiplayer game set in the Control universe and built upon Remedy’s proprietary Northlight engine.

In today’s blog post, Kasurinen delves into the future of Control and sets up the vision for Condor. “Control is first and foremost a world, a place for multitudes of stories, events, and characters. A place where unexpected, strange, and extraordinary things occur,” explains Kasurinen. “We kicked it off with Jesse’s entry into the Oldest House, but there is more to this world. Oh, so much more. And Project Condor will be an expression of that.”

Remedy is typically known for creating games that offer compelling single-player experiences. However, Kasurinen believes that multiplayer experiences can “shine as brightly as any single-player experience does,” and is confident that the Remedy team can “create shared experiences without compromising the unique DNA of who we are, or the stories we want to tell.”

Alongside Condor, Remedy is also working on another “bigger-budget Control-game,” according to today’s corporate press release from 505 Games. No other details were provided about the upcoming Control sequel, but we will be sure to stay on top of any new information. Stay tuned to Guide Stash for updates.
