Control Gets a Release Date for Xbox One, PS4, and PC

Pre-orders are available now for the world-bending, supernatural action-adventure game, Control.

Today, developer Remedy Entertainment and publisher 505 Games jointly announced the official release date for their supernatural adventure game, Control. The upcoming third-person, action-adventure title is set to release at the end of August 2019.

In Control, players take the reins as Jesse Faden, the new director of the Federal Bureau of Control. Faden must work alongside other agents from the Bureau to fight off supernatural enemies while uncovering the truth behind a mysterious “otherworldly threat” that has come to The Oldest House.

The most intriguing aspect of Control is its world-bending gameplay. Players wield supernatural abilities that allow them to suspend objects mid-air and transform the environment around them. The reactive environments make for compelling visuals and even more dynamic combat. You can get a feel for Control’s telekinetic gameplay in the trailer below.

Pre-orders are available now for all versions of Control. Those who do pre-order will receive exclusive in-game items, which include the Tactical Response Gear outfit as well as additional crafting resources. Players who plan on picking up the base game on PlayStation 4 can look forward to some additional launch day rewards, namely a Rare Service Weapon, a Rare Player Mod, the Astral Dive Suit for Jesse, and two new PS4 themes for Control.

If you’re looking to go all-in on the PS4 version of Control, then the Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99 USD) may be worth the extra cash. It includes everything you’d get in the base version, along with an extra side mission and another exclusive outfit. The PS4 deluxe edition also comes with two expansion packs called “The Foundation” and “AWE,” which will release post launch.

Control will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 27, 2019. The PC version of the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Gamers who are attending PAX East this weekend can get an early hands-on preview of Control at the Sony America booth. To learn more about the game, head over to the official Control website.
