Battlefield 5 Battle Royale Mode Could Arrive Soon

Battlefield 5 Battle Royale mode might be arriving a little sooner than you thought. Are you ready for it?

Battlefield 5 Battle Royale mode might be arriving a little sooner than you thought. Initially announced in the run-up to release, the mode is called Firestorm and is scheduled to come sometime this Spring. A new Daily Order suggests it might be on the way quite soon!

A recent Daily Order challenge lists playing Firestorm as a requirement to finish the challenge. So, either the mode is on the way, or something ended up in the game that shouldn’t be there. The Daily Order was brought to the internet’s attention by Reddit user firexstudio, with people in the comments confirming that they had seen the order as well.

Firestorm is a Battle Royale mode that combines the classic gunplay of Battlefield with the general shenanigans you expect from a Battle Royale game. Sixteen teams of four players will battle it out in a shrinking circle. There will also be vehicles available. I’m honestly quite interested to see how destructible terrain will affect a Battle Royale game of this nature.

Teams will also be able to go for small Conquest-like objectives. These will provide them with supplies, weapons, and vehicles. It’s very difficult to know how this mode will do in what is becoming a stacked genre. PUBG, Fortnite, and Apex Legends seem to be forming a strong top three. You will also need to buy a copy of the game to play it, which might be an issue for some people.

That said, the Battlefield series has a very diehard core fanbase, who are almost certain to embrace the mode. It will be interesting to see if DICE can succeed in what will be a new genre for them. Will you be jumping into the Battlefield 5 Battle Royale mode when it launches?
