Battlefield Portal is one of Battlefield 2042’s three core modes, alongside All-Out Warfare and Battlefield Hazard Zone. Battlefield Portal is a custom editing suite that will allow players to construct their own in-game Battlefield experience. Using the built-in Settings and Logic Editor, players can create custom matches using maps, vehicles, weapons, and assets from various Battlefield games. Battlefield Portal will feature reimagined content from Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3.

“Battlefield Portal is a love letter to fans and creators,” said Justin Wiebe, Senior Design Director at Ripple Effect Studios. “This creative suite will give the community more opportunity than ever before to create their own spin on the Battlefield experience.”

In Battlefield Portal, players can adjust a plethora of gameplay parameters, from changing victory conditions to applying movement or weapon restrictions. Since content from previous Battlefield games will be available in Portal mode as well, players can even put factions from different eras together in the same battle. All of this is made possible through Portal’s robust Settings, which lets users easily change various conditions.

There is also a built-in Logic Editor, which is essentially a more in-depth version of what Settings has to offer. The Logic Editor gives users access to much more detailed editing tools that allow for changes that can’t be done through Settings, such as victory conditions or team scale.

Battlefield Portal will launch as a part of Battlefield 2042 on October 22, 2021. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. You can head over to EA’s latest news post to learn more about Battlefield Portal.
