Despite being delayed, Battlefield 2042 is practically just around the corner. Fans eager to get their hands on the game ahead of launch will have one more opportunity to do so in October during the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta. On Tuesday, Electronic Arts and DICE revealed the official start dates and times for the upcoming open beta, alongside a trailer showcasing what’s in store.
Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Dates and Times
The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta technically has more than one start date, as it features a two-day early access period for those who pre-ordered the game. Current EA Play members and those who pre-order Battlefield 2042 will be granted early access to the Open Beta from October 6-7, 2021. For everyone else, the Open Beta will run from October 8-9. Pre-loading begins on Tuesday, October 5 at 7:00 UTC.
- Pre-load: October 5 7:00 UTC
- Early Access: October 6-7 7:00 UTC
- Open Access: October 8-9 7:00 UTC
- Open Beta Ends: October 10 7:00 UTC
The Open Beta will feature Conquest mode on Orbital, a new map that takes place at the site of a massive rocket launch. Four Specialists will be available to play, each with their own Specialty and Trait. You can learn more about each Specialist on the EA website.
Battlefield 2042 was originally scheduled to release in October, but was delayed earlier this month due to “unforeseen challenges” caused by the global pandemic. Battlefield 2042 now releases on November 19, 2021.
