Baldur’s Gate 3 Community Update #6
The game uses a combination of adaptive cameras and performance capture to create realistic dialogue responses and cinematics. This applies to both single-player and multiplayer interactions. The game is ready to provide full-fledged cinematics, no matter how you choose to respond to a situation.
“You’re telling your story, and we’re shooting it for you. We’re taking that camera down from being above the players and down into the drama, right into the action,” said Jason Latino, Cinematic Director at Larian Studios. “Baldur’s Gate 3 is an absolutely huge game,” he adds. “There’s a lot of games where the moment you add cinematics, they have to get smaller. We didn’t want to do that.”
Baldur’s Gate 3 uses a voting system that allows the player to see how others would respond during a dialogue. This system also works to bolster community engagement during Baldur’s Gate 3 livestreams on both Twitch and Stadia. Viewers watching a streamer play Baldur’s Gate 3 can chime in by voting for certain dialogue options while live. A percentage will appear beside each dialogue option, indicating viewer choices. Viewer feedback and interactivity is fully integrated on Twitch, while Crowd Choice is the option available to those on Stadia.
From top-notch cinematics to complex dialogue interactions, Baldur’s Gate 3 is shaping up to be an impressive RPG. Baldur’s Gate 3 will enter early access on Wednesday, September 30 on PC and Stadia. Stay tuned for more updates!
